Biography

Kimberly English (b. 1994) is a North Carolina-based textile artist. She earned her BFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design and her MFA from the University of North Carolina at artist residency at the McColl Center in Charlotte, North Carolina (Winter 2026 cohort) and served as the 2024-2025 Windgate Emerging Artist Fellow in Fiber at Virginia Commonwealth University. English also runs Tabby Studio, a weaving residency, on her property in Canton, North Carolina.

Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including the Spartanburg Art Museum, Spartanburg, SC; The Delaware Contemporary, Wilmington, Delaware; the Ackland Art Museum, Chapel Hill, NC; The Museum of Craft and Design, San Francisco, CA; among others. English has been awarded numerous residencies, including at Woodstock Byrdcliffe Artist Colony, Woodstock, NY; The Gibbes Museum, Charleston, SC; and Penland School of Craft, Penland, NC. Chapel Hill, where she was a Carolina Digital Humanities Fellow.
