Biography

Leigh Suggs (b. 1981, Boone, NC) is a Richmond-based artist. She received her BFA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University. In 2025, she was an artist-in-residence at the McColl Center in Charlotte, NC.

Suggs’ work is held in prominent public and corporate collections, including the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, Weatherspoon Art Museum, Wells Fargo, Truist, and Google. She has exhibited widely across the United States, with solo and group exhibitions at venues including the Mint Museum (Charlotte, NC); Massey Klein (New York, NY); Abigail Ogilvy (Los Angeles, CA); Main Projects (Richmond, VA); and the Taubman Museum of Art (Roanoke, VA), among others.
